Innovative Green Recycling Pioneer Provides Unique Income Opportunity for Businesses by Recycling Media Supplies

T3 Office Recycling Solutions enables local businesses to earn money by recycling ink and toner products and provides fundraising opportunities for our schools

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – September 30, 2014 – T3 Office Recycling Solutions today announced that it has received R2:2013 (Responsible Recycling) Certification. The R2 (Responsible Recycling) standard was created by a multi-stakeholder group formed by the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to set a high standard of voluntary principles and guidelines designed to promote responsible practices for electronics recyclers. The standard consists of requirements in the areas of environmental and public health, worker health and safety, security (data and facility) and the whole of the recycling process through final disposition.

R2 certification provides consumers and businesses verification and assurance that T3 Office Recycling Solutions is environmentally responsible and safe with our practices and procedures. The certification offers transparency into our processing and management of ink, toner and media cartridges, as well as other electronics.

T3 Office Recycling Solutions also received certifications for ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007. These certifications set companies apart as industry leaders, and as part of the movement to raise the standards for operations and material handling in recycling. Last year, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors presented T3 with the Sustainable Business of the Year award in the solid waste category.

“I’m very pleased we offer a green solution for companies to recycle ink and toner and provide an additional revenue stream by recycling and promoting the reuse and/or recycling of cartridges,” said Buzz Raley, CEO of T3 Office Recycling Solutions. “We are the only company that offers a program like this – we are not your average office supply company. Additionally, I am proud of our philanthropic efforts. We support our schools which are desperately in need due to diminished programs and budget cuts. Fundraising is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle.”

To participate, business owners simply go online, fill out a form, call or email, and send in or drop off any of their used toner supplies. T3 Office Recycling Solutions will pick up these items for you at no cost. The company accepts all types of used and surplus (Sealed, opened or unopened, obsolete, expired or overstock) ink and toner – any make, model or brand. Business owners can also visit the company website to receive an estimate on the market value of their recyclables.

In addition to its philanthropic efforts, T3 Office Recycling Solutions found a way to give back to our local schools. With cutbacks statewide from teacher salaries, to supplies, to limited extracurricular programs; T3 offers the same recycling program and gives 100% of fundraising efforts to the schools. Currently, the company has launched fundraising programs in Folsom and the greater Sacramento area and plans to spread the word to additional Sacramento area schools.

For Our Troops:

The Flag

Michelle Selby
Red for the blood shed in the name of Freedom,
for which we fought,
united
Blue for the oceans of time we have crossed,
remaining the land of the free
White for the peace we wish to share,
all men created equal
Stars to remember those who fought throughout the night,
bravely for our land
Stripes to remind us of the lashings taken by the Prisoners of War
With a seal, in God we trust
We each are one of many, in which we stand united in Brotherhood
A symbol of Pride
A salute to those who died in the fight
A blanket to cover us in times of need
Waving high to show we are still here, undefeated
With honor you are presented to the world

Father’s Day & a really sharp 19 year old!

Father’s Day celebrates the contribution that fathers and father figures make for their children’s lives. I’ve never really researched how Father’s day came about so I searched and found this little tidbit.

A woman named Sonora Smart Dodd was an influential figure in the establishment of Father’s Day. Her father, American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, raised six children by himself after the death of their mother. This was uncommon at that time, as many widowers placed their children in the care of others or quickly married again.

Sonora was inspired by the work of Anna Jarvis, who had pushed for Mother’s Day celebrations. Sonora felt that her father deserved recognition for what he had done. The first time Father’s Day was held in June was in 1910. Father’s Day was officially recognized as a holiday in 1972 by President Nixon.

There is even a Father’s Day festival this weekend- check it out! http://fathersdayfestival.com/

AND…..

I ran across this story on Upworthy.com and thought it was incredible. Not just the idea but that the idea and passion for saving the planet is coming from someone so young. I found it very inspiring.

I have invented a method to clean up almost half of the great Pacific’s garbage patch in just 10 years, using the currents to my advantage.

Memorial Day, Event Info & a Pug!

2014 memorialDid you know…..

…that each year on Memorial Day a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time? We are all busy and enjoy having the extra day off to enjoy a BBQ, extra time with family, shop the sales or maybe just catch up on yard work.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we took a few moments to remember and thank our military, past and present? They are after all the reason we have the day off! I think we should all set an alarm on our phones  (I know you all have them on you right now 😉 ) for 3:00 and honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Who’s with me?!

Do you have an American flag that you bring out for Memorial day and other important days? If you didn’t know, there are A LOT of rules that apply. I always knew the basics, like never let the flag touch the ground and always have it lit up at night if you leave it out but there is way more to our beautiful flag. For example, on Memorial Day it should be at half-staff until noon. For a pretty thorough list of the American Flag Guidelines click here

EARTH DAY 2014!

Earth Day (s) and a Beard-A-Thon?

Why yes, you read that right! Every year on April 22, over a billion people in 190 countries take action for Earth Day. From San Francisco to San Juan, Beijing to Brussels, Moscow to Marrakesh, from Seattle to Sacramento, people plant trees, clean up their communities, hug a tree and more all on behalf of the environment. T3 believes every day is Earth day but we love having one extra special day every year to have some fun and participate in Earth Day events. On April 17th we celebrated with Sacramento State University and had a great time! April 23rd we celebrate with American River College. BE SEEN BEING GREEN!

officeelectronicwasterecycling-smaller

As most of you know, we recently moved from our home of 10 plus years to a new, much larger facility in Rancho Cordova. T3 strives to provide you with the best in class services at all times. Moving to a larger, more efficient space will ensure that we continue to deliver superior service to our customers and continue to grow. We are just about settled in now, just need a few more plants and maybe some fabulous recycled art!

T3 Wins Award

In September, T3 was thrilled to be awarded with the Sustainable Business of the Year award in the Solid Waste Reduction category. On September 10th the Sacramento County board of Supervisors presented us with a certificate recognizing our efforts. Then on September 19th we participated in the awards ceremony and received our award.

We are honored to be acknowledged for all of our hard work and dedication to reducing, reusing and recycling.

For more than 15 years T3 has been committed to sustainability, keeping waste out of landfills and promoting awareness of reducing, reusing and remanufacturing products that still have a lot of life to give.

We not only recycle but we can create new revenue streams for everyone from small to large businesses, State and Federal Agencies to Universities, schools, churches and non-profits.

T3 has taken the responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the products being sold. In fact, this year we became R2 and ISO14001 certified to solidify our commitment to our environment, the safety of our employees, the security of data and the final disposition of products and equipment. It’s a pretty big deal!!

In 2012 T3 kept 90 Tons of ink, toner, media and E-waste out of our landfills. We keep all of our recycling and remanufacturing right here in California, keeping jobs here as well as lessening our carbon footprint.

We are proud to be a part of this community and love to give back as much as possible.

It is our belief that sustainability is no longer just a morals-based question. It’s  imperative for every business that intends to thrive and grow in the years ahead.

Thank you BERC , Sacramento County and to all of you who support us in our efforts to protect our environment and help other businesses prosper.

Sincerely,
Cindy and the T3 team
